AHERA Requirements Reminder

This is a reminder that all public schools are required to comply with the federal Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (commonly referred to as AHERA) which was signed into law in 1986. AHERA requires both public and private non-profit primary and secondary schools to inspect all buildings that are leased, owned, or otherwise used as school buildings for the presence of asbestos-containing building materials. The next Triennial evaluation needs to be completed by July 2010.

If you are in need of professional services to complete the evaluation, please contact Ernest Coon at (914) 439-6513.
